dcterms:abstract "Infections show diverse endotypes and phenotypes that influence clinical outcomes. The Personalized Swiss Sepsis Study (PSSS) and clinical data warehouses have improved integration of host, pathogen, and longitudinal data, but key gaps remain: limited clinical context and insufficient interpretation of clinical phenotypes. Understanding which interventions occurred and why is essential for patient management. We will develop harmonized clinical annotation for infections, outcomes, and contextual interpretation to support expert-informed and data-driven assessment on ICUs. Our goals are to maintain and expand the PSSS platform beyond sepsis under FAIR principles, improve data quality through standardized phenotype and context annotation, build a sustainable network across ICUs, infectious diseases, microbiology, and data science, develop clinical and computational methods for rapid and precise patient assessment—including multidimensional characterization, early outcome prediction, digital biomarker validation, and treatment evaluation—and create a multicenter FAIR public data repository with software for phenotype assessment, biomarker discovery, and retrospective validation.";

"Reuse of Data during the term of the Consortium Agreement: During the term of the Consortium Agreement, Data may be shared under the prerequisites of Sections 6.1 and 6.2 with a Party or a third party for a research purpose unrelated to the Project (Reuse of Data), provided that the access or transfer of Data meets the following cumulative conditions: (i) is duly validated by decision of the Executive Board, (ii) if personal data are concerned, is subject to the prior and individual written approval of each Party or third party that provided the concerned Data, (iii) shall only be granted to Parties or third parties which entered into an agreement concluded with all Parties to the IICU Consortium and signed by the Chairperson(s) of the Executive Board on their behalf pursuant to Clause 1.3 above, (iv) complies with all applicable laws, in particular the Human Research Act and its provisions related to further use of data, (v) does not involve the commercialization of the Data itself, and (vi) if imposed by the law, has been duly authorized by all competent authorities such as ethical committees. The agreement concluded between the IICU Consortium and the Party or the third party wishing to reuse the Data must settle the potential claims on results obtained through the Reuse of Data. The agreement must in any case ensure that the Party or third party accessing the Data acknowledges the role and contribution of the IICU Consortium in any publications based on the concerned Data. The agreement shall be managed by the Sponsor according to Section 3.1.3. Reuse of Data after the termination of the Consortium Agreement: The IICU Consortium Executive Board establishes a strategy for the Reuse of Data after the termination of the Consortium Agreement, in accordance with Section 6.1, i.e., compliance with all applicable laws, ethics requirements, open science standards or any relevant SPHN guidelines, as well as informed patient consent. To the extent possible, the Data and in particular the datasets generated from the Data for the purpose of the Project should be made available for research purposes in public repositories, provided that such public repositories comply with the principles of open science and all applicable laws, in particular with regard to personal data protection and data security. The Reuse of Data must not involve the commercialization of the Data itself. The Executive Board formally decides on the fate of the Data after the termination of the Consortium Agreement, subject to a written agreement with Partie(s) having provided Data under this Consortium Agreement and in accordance with their respective internal regulations.";
